Mr. James Hopkins grew up in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Hamilton Township High School in Obetz. After High School, Mr. Hopkins completed his Bachelor's of Music Education at Capital University in Bexley, Ohio.
During college, Mr. Hopkins began working with his alma mater's marching band program as the assistant percussion instructor and the drama department as the assistant vocal director. Mr. Hopkins is now currently the lead percussion instructor for the HT marching Band and the head music director for the HT Drama department.
A very dedicated musician, Mr. Hopkins has also participated in various church music ensembles most recently at Peace Lutheran Church, in Gahanna, Ohio where he served for 8 years and had a short stint as the Interim Music Director of Traditional Worship. Currently, Mr. Hopkins sings with his church, Grace Fellowship in Pickerington, Ohio.
Mr. Hopkins is excited to enter another school year at NAPLS where he is the middle school choir director.
He hopes that he can emulate his middle and high school music teachers who cultivated a passion for music and teaching in himself as he serves the students of New Albany Middle School.
