Hello!! I'm MacKenzie Baus and I teach third grade!
I am a very zestful teacher who fosters a positive learning environment focusing on growth-mindset, the importance of grit, embracing all cultures, and the power of movement. My goal as an educator is to support each student where they are and help them grow and be successful. I like to get to know each one of my students and share many laughs within the class whether that be with educational songs, reading in character voices, or telling a daily joke. My end of year goals are to have my students prepared for the next grade and develop their own love for learning.
I am a proud alumni of Xavier University where I graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education along with an Ohio K-12 Reading Endorsement and a Masters in Reading Education. I had taught my first two years in the Cincinnati area prior to moving to Columbus and now am working here at New Albany!
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, yoga, running, reading, and watching the Blue Jackets play either at Nationwide or the comfort of my own home. Some more about me, I am a dog mom to 3 fun little fur babies (Baker, Lotti, and Archie)!
I am overwhelmed with joy to work in this amazing district and work everyday with these spectacular students, educators, and community!
