Degrees and Certifications:
This is my eighth year teaching, My previous seven years were spent at Dominion Middle School in Columbus City Schools. In those seven years, I taught mostly math to mostly eighth graders. I love challenging problems, and I am passionate about making math meaningful to my students.
I also taught engineering and outside the classroom, I coached the basketball, softball, and robotics teams. I am a Desmos Fellow, a Teacher Leadership Institute fellow, assessor, and facilitator, a TEDEd contributor, and a member of the Ohio Department of Education's Grade 8 and High School Functions teams.
A student in my classroom can expect to face challenging problems. Students can also expect to find an open and caring environment where their struggles are recognized and their questions encouraged.
I am happily married to my wife, Torie, of seven years. Torie is a kindergarten teacher. She is also the mother of our two year old son, Coen. Coen enjoys blocks, bubbles, and mac and cheese. We live in Hebron with our dog, Brewski.
