Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to Kindergarten! I am so excited to be beginning my 20th year teaching with the New Albany-Plain Local School District this year. I spent 13 years teaching half-day Kindergarten (both AM and PM), then I made the switch to teach first grade for 5 years. Most recently, I have spent a year off on maternity leave. I am happy to be returning this year to the ELC as an AM Kindergarten teacher. I earned my undergraduate degree from Grove City College (in PA) in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. In 2006, I graduated with my Master's degree in Literacy from The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!). I completed my Reading Endorsement in 2016 through Ohio Dominican University and I am currently enrolled in Ashland University and working towards my Gifted Endorsement. I love teaching and come from a family of teachers. When I began teaching in 1999, my grandma and dad were both actively still teaching, so we had three generations of teachers all at the same time!
I live in New Albany with my husband Josh and our two children, Bradley and Chloe. Bradley just turned 11 and loves creating things and making all kinds of messes in the name of Science. Chloe is 15 months old, loves crawling, babbling, reading books with mommy, and playing with her big brother. As a family, we love being outside, camping, riding bikes, and playing games. In the fall, I love to cheer enthusiastically for the Pittsburgh Steelers while my family tells me to calm down!
I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year and am looking forward to a wonderful school year together!
