Mrs. Bodman

Welcome to Kindergarten! I am so excited to begin my 24th year teaching with the New Albany-Plain Local School District this year.  I have spent my career so far teaching both Kindergarten and First Grade. This year, I will be teaching All Day Kindergarten, and I'm just as excited to begin this school year as I was 24 years ago!

A little about my educational background:  I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Grove City College, Pennsylvania. In 2006, I graduated with my Master's degree in Literacy from The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!). I completed my Reading Endorsement in 2016 through Ohio Dominican University and I am currently working towards my Gifted Endorsement with Ashland University. I love teaching and come from a family of teachers. When I began my career in 1999, my grandma and dad were both still actively teaching, so we had three generations of teachers all at the same time!

I live in New Albany with my husband Josh, a college professor/graphic designer, and our two children, Bradley and Chloe. Bradley just turned 15 and will be starting his freshman year in high school.  He enjoys math and science (and making all kinds of messes in my kitchen in the name of Science!) Chloe turned 5 in May and keeps us on our toes!  She loves puzzles, art, drawing, baby dolls, books, and all things princesses!  She will be in afternoon preschool this year here at the ELC.  As a family, we love being outside, camping, riding bikes, and playing games. In the fall, I love to cheer enthusiastically for the Pittsburgh Steelers while my family tells me to calm down!

I am so excited about being your child's teacher this year and am looking forward to a wonderful school year together!
