Welcome Ms. Casey Cosgray, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching & Learning

Dear New Albany-Plain Local Schools Parents & Families,

As you may know, Dr. Katherine Nowak has been selected to serve as the next Superintendent of Bexley City Schools. While we will greatly miss Katie’s leadership and contributions to New Albany-Plain Local Schools, we are excited for her as she begins this next chapter in her professional journey.

Dr. Nowak’s transition created a vacancy in the position of Assistant Superintendent for Teaching & Learning. We were fortunate to attract a highly qualified and competitive pool of 41 applicants from across the region and beyond. Members of our Cabinet conducted interviews over the past two weeks, and the process yielded an exceptional group of candidates. It was evident that one candidate rose to the top and received unanimous support.

On June 29, 2026, the Board of Education approved my recommendation to hire Ms. Casey Cosgray to join New Albany-Plain Local Schools as our next Assistant Superintendent for Teaching & Learning.

I have had the privilege of working closely with Casey over the past four years during her tenure as Chief Academic Officer for Bexley City Schools. Throughout that time, she consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership, strategic vision, and an unwavering commitment to student success.

Casey brings a remarkable breadth of educational leadership experience at both the domestic and international levels. Her previous roles include Deputy Director General of Academic Affairs and Admissions for Emirates National Schools in Abu Dhabi; Head of School/Superintendent at both the American Academy for Girls in Dubai and West Yas Academy in Abu Dhabi; Principal at the Western Academy of Beijing in China; and multiple leadership positions within Dublin City Schools and Hilliard City Schools in Ohio.

Her diverse experiences have provided her with a unique perspective on educational excellence, organizational leadership, talent development, and continuous improvement. Casey’s passion for teaching and learning, combined with her proven ability to lead complex educational systems, make her an outstanding fit for our district and our continued pursuit of our district purpose: to create a culture of accountability that achieves the best academic and developmental outcomes for each student.

"I am honored and humbled to join New Albany-Plain Local Schools and become part of a district with a strong tradition of excellence, innovation, and student achievement,” said Ms Cosgray “Throughout my career, I have learned that the most successful school systems are built on strong relationships, a shared vision, and meaningful partnerships with families and the community. I look forward to collaborating with students, staff, families, district leaders, and the Board of Education as we continue to foster a culture of excellence and accountability, support the academic and developmental growth of every student, and prepare learners to thrive in an ever-changing world."

We look forward to formally welcoming Casey to the New Albany-Plain Local Schools team and we are excited about the expertise, energy, and leadership she will bring to our students, staff, and community.

Please join me in congratulating Katie on her new role and welcoming Casey to the New Albany family.

Best regards,

Jason Fine
