New Albany - Plain Local Schools welcomes Mr. Bryan O’Shea as the next Director of Secondary Education effective August 1, 2025. Mr. O’Shea brings an extensive background in educational administration and knowledge of best practices as he joins the New Albany-Plain Local School District.
Mr. O’Shea presently serves as the Principal of Grove City High School where he works daily to lead and support students, staff, and families. Prior to becoming principal in 2016, Mr O’Shea served as assistant principal at Grove City HIgh School, an assistant principal at Norton Middle School and as a math teacher at Central Crossing High School.
“Bryan’s extensive background and demonstrated successful experience in secondary education will allow him to lead and support daily teaching and learning needs to increase student outcomes. His leadership skills, his professional experiences, and operational knowledge will be an excellent addition to New Albany-Plain Local Schools,” said Superintendent Michael Sawyers.
Mr. O’Shea holds a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Ohio University and a Master of Science in Education and Allied Professionals with a focus on educational leadership from the University of Dayton. Mr O’Shea is also a student at The Ohio State University pursuing his Doctorate in Educational Administration.
Mr. O’Shea stated, “I’m excited to begin this new chapter with the New Albany-Plain Local School District. I am honored to collaboratively work with the passionate, dedicated educators within the district’s middle and high schools to create a culture of accountability that achieves the best academic and developmental outcomes for each student.” Bryan resides in Grove City with his wife, Katie, and their four school-aged children Carly, Andrew, Noah, and Evan. His personal interests include spending time with his family, exploring new cities, technology, and watching hockey. Bryan will begin his transition into the curriculum department this summer in preparation for the 2025-26 school year. Welcome Bryan!
