The Board of Education held a Special Meeting on July 20, 2026 in the District Administrative Office, 55 N. High St. New Albany. The purpose was to interview the seven applicants for the board seat vacated by John McClelland.  

The New Albany-Plain Local Board of Education has appointed Mr. Jeremy Nicholas to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of John McClelland. Mr. Nicholas was one of seven candidates who fulfilled the published application requirements and interview process for the Board of Education vacancy. The Board of Education is grateful for the high level of interest and quality of the candidates within our community seeking to serve our school district.   

Mr. Nicholas will be sworn in at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education Monday, August 10, 2026.  Congratulations Mr. Nicholas on your appointment to serve as a Board of Education member for the New Albany-Plain Local Schools!  We look forward to the contributions you will make as a Board member to our school community.
