DIRECTIONS & PARKING
Parking is available at the Convention Center. See below for maps of Convention Center Parking and Building Layout. You can also purchase advanced parking by clicking here.
Graduating seniors have the opportunity to select a NAPLS staff or faculty member to give them their diploma during the ceremony, which is a huge honor for selected staff members. In order for this to be a smooth process, students will be alphabetized by the staff member they select. This will ensure seamless transitions and an orderly ceremony. Please ask your student which staff member they asked to give them their diploma so you are aware of when they will be receiving their diploma.
STUDENTS ARRIVE AT NAHS GYM NO LATER THAN 7:30 A.M.
On the graduation date – Saturday, May 23 – graduating seniors must arrive on time. Upon arrival (7:30 AM), students are to report to the NAHS gym for attendance and final announcements. Any graduate who is not in place at that time will have his/her name deleted from the graduation list and his/her diploma will be “pulled.” From that time forward, any senior who arrives late will not be placed in line. Therefore, he/she will not participate in the graduation ceremony. We will then load the school buses to travel to The Convention Center.
DRESS REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION (under graduation gown)
- Light colored outfit (no jeans)
- White, low-heeled shoes preferred
- No tennis shoes
- Light colored shirts (with collar)
- Dark tie
- Dark trousers (no jeans)
- Dark shoes (no tennis shoes or sandals)
Graduation Caps are not to be decorated. Also, we may not have extra tassels so make sure students bring and keep their tassels with them before the ceremony.
The graduation ceremony is a privilege, not a right. Please note that violations of the student code of conduct could result in the denial of participation in the ceremony. Involvement in pranks may result in the loss of a senior’s participation in graduation.
Students are encouraged to not bring a purse, book bag, or other valuable items because there is not a secure location for storage during the graduation ceremony for such items. Thank you for your cooperation and adherence to these guidelines.
Please note that seniors must meet all obligations in order to graduate. Graduates and families have many responsibilities at this time. We encourage you to stay in contact with teachers to ensure that all requirements are being met and that graduation is not in jeopardy.
