My name is Kim Waltman, and I am a counselor at NAIS. I am so excited to be a part of the New Albany Intermediate School family and to be able to get to know as many students and families as possible!

This is my 20th year in education! I graduated from Pittsburg State University (Pittsburg, Ks) in 2001 with a degree in Secondary Education in Social Studies and received my Master’s in School Counseling from Wichita State University in 2008. I was a 7th grade social studies teacher in a small town outside Wichita, Ks for 10 years. I was then the middle school counselor for the same school for eight years. I moved to Ohio in 2019 with my husband and my two children, Kinley and Reed. We love living in Ohio!

Our family is very sports oriented. We love watching all sports, especially college basketball. We are big Wichita State and University of Kansas basketball fans. My children also both play sports. Don’t be surprised if you see us at any sporting event! When not watching sports, I love to read and to catch up on the latest movies!
