Virtual Learning Program

Students First

Our Purpose

  • The New Albany-Plain Local School District is committed to creating a culture of accountability that achieves the best academic and developmental outcomes for each student.

Second Semester VLP Selection

  • In response to the pandemic, the New Albany-Plain Local Schools created the Virtual Learning Program (VLP) for the 2020-2021 school year.

While some districts that created remote programs required a full year commitment from parents, our District required a one semester commitment. This was done to allow time for parents to monitor the impact of the pandemic and to help reduce parent stress associated with having to make a full year commitment with so much uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 in July 2020.

It is time for parents of current Virtual Learning Program students to commit to finishing the 2020-2021 school year in the VLP, or commit to the in-person learning model beginning with the second semester on January 19, 2021.  All VLP parents must return the commitment form with their choice by November 24.

The Virtual Learning Program is opening enrollment for the second semester for students who are currently attending school in-person. The second semester begins on January 19, 2021. Parents of in-person students who are considering the VLP should read the information provided on this site, and if a change is sought, submit the commitment form with their decision to enroll in the VLP by November 24.

Parents of in-person students who want their child to continue as an in-person student do not need to take any action.
