Ohio Seal of Biliteracy

  • This spring, New Albany High School is pleased to offer our seniors the opportunity to graduate with the Ohio Seal of Biliteracy. This program recognizes graduating high school seniors who have achieved a high level of proficiency in English and another foreign language. New Albany High School seniors will have the opportunity to earn the Ohio Seal of Biliteracy by demonstrating proficiency in English and in a foreign language through the guidelines established by the Ohio Department of Education. Please use the links to the right and view the video below to better understand the process by which this recognition will be awarded to graduating seniors.

In order to earn the Ohio Seal of Biliteracy, seniors must earn a proficient score on the foreign language assessment approved by the Ohio Department of Education. This computer-based assessment will be offered at New Albany High School on April 16th. The cost for this assessment is $20; however, this cost is subject to change based on the foreign language being assessed.

  • Interested senior students must register and pay for the foreign language assessment by April 10th.  In order to register, students should select the Biliteracy Seal program using the registration link provided on this page. When registering, students must choose the program that includes the appropriate language assessment. If the desired foreign language is not listed, students should select “Biliteracy Seal Other,” and then indicate the specific language during the registration.

New Albany High School is excited to offer this opportunity to this year’s senior class.  Specific testing information will be communicated to registered students the week prior to testing.
