Degrees and Certifications:
Hello! My name is Alyssa Bashore and I am beyond excited to be joining New Albany-Plain Local Schools as a kindergarten teacher at the ELC! I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Science. I attended Ashland University where I received my Master’s Degree in Teaching in the 21st Century. In 2015 I completed my first field placement in New Albany at the K-1 and then substitute taught the remainder of the school year. I was very lucky to come back to the K-1 the following year to complete my student teaching experience in a first grade classroom, as well as continue to substitute teach for the rest of the school year. During the 2017-2018 school year, I worked as an instructional paraprofessional in a multi-disability classroom in Westerville City Schools. I am so thankful for all of these different experiences because I feel they have helped me to continue to grow as an educator!
Outside of teaching, I love to spend time with my family. I have two younger siblings so I enjoy being “big sissy” and attending sporting events, playing, and giggling with them! I have a three year old husky, Kaya, who needs a lot of exercise and attention so we love going on long walks and to the dog park.
I am so excited to be back in the district and building where I first began this journey! I cannot wait to meet my first class of Eagles next week!
