Ms. Karrie Horton is proud to be a 20+ year veteran music teacher in the New Albany - Plain Local School District. She holds the degrees of Bachelor in Music Education from The Ohio State University and Master in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. Ms. Horton has continued additional studies in Theater Education and in Music Education at Otterbein, Ashland, Akron and Oklahoma Universities. She is the Director of all choral ensembles at the high school, shares the 6th grade choir with Mrs Kim Hurst, and serves as music director for the annual musicals at both NAHS and St. Charles Prep. Ms. Horton is also a member of the Senior Seminar teaching team, and represents her colleagues as the Performing Arts Dept. Chair.
Ms. Horton is active in the choral community as a singer/soloist, having performed with many local arts groups, from opera to commercial jingles, to big band. She may be the original wedding singer, with more than 300 under her belt. She is Associate Director of Capriccio! Vocal Ensemble, an 80 voice auditioned adult community chorus based in central Ohio.
My name is Patricia McLellan and I'm the Managing Director of NAHS Theatre.
I attended Central Connecticut State University where I majored in Elementary/Special Education with a minor in Psychology K-12. I was a substitute teacher and a stay at home mom for 43 years before I moved to Ohio in 2005.
In 2008, I joined New Albany as an Educational Assistant where I have worked in all buildings. This year, I am in the VLP Program and in person. I'm very active in athletics as well for the district.
I have always loved theatre. I was in several theatre productions in high school: "Fiddler on the Roof", "Kiss Me Kate", "Oklahoma" and "South Pacific". I have also been involved in the NAHS Theatre Department since 2011. "Beauty and the Beast" was probably my favorite musical along with organizing "Tea With Belle" for the community.
I live in New Albany with my goldendoodle Zoe. I have four grown children (ages 25-36) and 7 grandchildren (ages 1 month - 7 years
old). My children live in Florida, South Carolina and Ohio.
I am really looking forward to working with my fellow directors and students this year.

On June 6th, 2014, Ms. Jessica Nettler became Mrs. Whitehead. She is enjoying the craziness associated with a name change, but don't worry, she is still the same short teacher in the same classroom with no windows, and she won't get upset if you get her name wrong a few times. In 7th grade, Mrs. Pisauro sparked a love of science in Mrs. Whitehead that grew throughout her high school years with Mrs. Scott and Mrs. Hatch at St. Francis DeSales.
Mrs. Whitehead went on to major in physics and minor in technical theatre at THE Ohio State University with a focus in secondary science education. She graduated in 2007 with a bachelor in science degree and then continued straight on to earn a Master of Education degree in the summer of 2008. She started teaching physics at New Albany High School the day after graduation and has loved it ever since. Mrs. Whitehead has taught, physical science, physics, and Principles of Engineering over the past nine years and is excited for her first combination of all three this year. She also serves as the technical director for the New Albany Theatre Department.
