Ms. Guthrie

¡Hola! My name is Meghan Guthrie and I am excited to work with your child on their Spanish journey this year! This will be my eighth year of teaching and my seventh year at NAPLS. It is my passion to teach students about the incredible insights, relationships, and opportunities that learning a language can bring. I love watching students grow in their understanding of Spanish while also making connections with other cultures and having fun!

I grew up in New Albany and graduated from NAHS, so I am thrilled to have returned to this wonderful community as a teacher. My love for learning Spanish started in middle school, and thanks to a high school history trip, I instantly caught the travel bug. After high school, I attended Ohio Wesleyan University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. I studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain for a semester and also spent a few weeks in Puerto Rico volunteering at the Museo de las Américas. Currently, I am also working toward earning my Master's Degree in Spanish.

In my free time, I love spending time with family, friends, and my Miniature Schnauzer puppy, Winnie! I played tennis at NA and OWU, and still love to play whenever I can. My other hobbies include reading, watching movies, attending concerts, cheering on the Steelers, baking, and of course traveling. So far I have traveled to Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy, Portugal, and Puerto Rico. I always love finding new places to visit! I have also helped lead school trips with students to Spain and Costa Rica, which have been amazing experiences!

I am greatly looking forward to this year and all the excitement it will bring! I cannot wait to get to know my students and watch them grow during our time together. Feel free to contact me with any questions!
