Degrees and Certifications:
I am originally from Roseville, Ohio (a small pottery town outside of Zanesville) and attended Muskingum College where I earned a Bachelors Degree in Music Education. I taught general music in the Zanesville area for two years before going to Indiana University for graduate school.
Following my time in Indiana, I obtained my Kodaly Certification at New York University and taught at The Spence School in New York City for three years before coming to New Albany in 2003. I taught kindergarten and first grade music at the K-1 Elementary until 2010 and decided to take some time off to stay home with my twins, Matthew and Addison. I returned to teaching in New Albany in 2014 and have taught first through fifth grade music. I will be teaching kindergarten and 4th grade music for the 2017-18 school year.
My family is building a home in New Albany and my twins will start 2nd grade at New Albany Primary this year. I am excited for them to experience all of the opportunities this special school district has to offer.
