The District website exists to better inform the Learning Community of information regarding the New Albany - Plain Local School District. As a user of this site you are responsible for conducting yourself in a manner that is respectful of the rights of others in the Learning Community and complies with local, state, and federal laws. Misuse of the district's digital communication systems, including e-mail, will not be tolerated and may result in the District taking action to prevent an individual or entity's use of those systems in the future. Such actions may include, but are not limited to, referral to the appropriate law enforcement agencies.
Certain anonymous usage information is collected on all visitors to the District website. The District's web server automatically logs the date and time of all requests for information online as well as what IP address requested the information. Additionally if you were referred to our website by a web link or a search engine the referring page will be logged as well. Searches for items on the District's website are also logged. This anonymous usage information is used by the District to improve the quality of our website; and no attempt is made by the district to identify individuals through this information. This anonymous usage information may be made available to third parties such as law enforcement to assist in a criminal investigation.

Certain portions of the District website are only available to registered users who have provided the district with basic information such as their name and e-mail address. Persons affiliated with the district, namely staff, students, and parents, have access to enhanced online services and information once they have completed a registration process that verifies their identity and provides them with a username and password to access protected information and services. The District collects personally identifiable information in order to verify your identity and so we may contact you via e-mail. We do not share or sell personally identifiable information with any third party except in cases where we are required by law such as in response to a court order or subpoena.

District web pages may contain links to sites that are not administered by NAPLS, one of its schools, departments or programs. NAPLS is not responsible for the content of the linked sites and pages.
Information contained within the District’s website is considered the property of New Albany-Plain Local Schools. Violation of copyright protections will not be tolerated. Every attempt is made to keep the District's website as up to date and accurate as possible. However, information on the website may become outdated or incorrect. In such cases, the District shall not be held liable for any losses suffered as a result of reliance on information posted on the Website.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education. FERPA requires that the Board of Education designate “Student Directory Information." The NAPLS Board of Education has defined directory information as a student's name, address, and telephone number. School-sponsored publications may include date and place of birth, major field of study, participation in officially-recognized activities and sports, height and weight, if a member of an athletic team, dates of attendance, date of graduation, or awards received.
