Degrees and Certifications:
As a child, I always knew that I would be a teacher. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Bowling Green State University and my Master’s degree in literacy from Ashland University. I also hold a Master Teacher designation and a Lead Professional Educator license.
During my career I have taught middle school math and science, been a first grade teacher, and have provided intervention services at the primary level. In recent years, my professional development has been focused upon the Orton Gillingham multisensory method of reading instruction. Over the past five years I have worked to become an IMSLEC (International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council) instructor and supervisor of the OG method. With this being my 30th year of teaching, I can honestly say that I still find teaching just as thrilling and fulfilling as I did early in my career.
New Albany has been my home for most of my life. My husband and I are New Albany graduates. Our children, Kaleigh, Kyle, and Drew are also NAHS alumni! I am very fortunate to be teaching in a community that means so much to me.
