Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Barron

A little about me….. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Fairmont State College in 1993. I majored in Physical Education and Health with a minor in Adapted Physical Education and Recreation. I have also earned two Master’s Degrees in Special Education from West Virginia University in 2002 and 2005. I am highly qualified in English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.

This will be my 17th year of teaching, 10 of those have been with New Albany Plain Local Schools. In those 10 years, I worked in the high school as an intervention specialist, teaching students with moderate to severe disabilities. In 2016-2017, I transitioned to the middle school to collaboratively teach 6th and 8th graders in math and social studies. This school year, I will continue as an intervention specialist teaching Resource Math 8 as well as working in Collaboration Math 8 classes with three wonderful teachers. This has been a wonderful transition and I really enjoy working with middle school students. I am excited to start this school year and work with all of the amazing students and staff!

I have been married to my wonderful husband Dwight for 3 years. In my free time, I enjoy watching OSU and WVU football and basketball games, playing cards and hanging out with friends and family. Dwight and I enjoy traveling to the Caribbean each summer to enjoy the ocean and its beauty! One of my favorite memories was parasailing in Cancun, Mexico. I was terrified at first but overcame my fear to truly see a magnificent view from high up above. I would totally do it again!
