Mrs. Quillin

Hello!

I’m Mrs. Quillin, and I want to welcome all of our students back to school! I am extremely exited to start my 12th year in New Albany in my new role coordinating and teaching in the Virtual Learning Program (VLP) for grades 1-6. Our ELL support team will also include Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Suckel! We are here to help our students and families as they navigate content learning in the VLP while simultaneously acquiring and mastering English.

Our New Albany students come from all over the world! Each year, I learn about other cultures from our students who bring their own experiences and perspectives that enrich us all. I want every student to feel welcome, supported, safe, and excited to learn each day! Students in the ELL program will develop their skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, so that they can increase their academic success in all content areas. Services are designed around the specific needs of each student and their learning style.

Now, a little more about me… I began my career in Westerville City Schools, and I have also taught adult learners of English through a program at Columbus Refugee and Immigration Services. I earned my Master’s Degree in TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Ohio Dominican University.

On a personal note, my husband, Mac, and live in the New Albany Community, and my children Trey (2014), Alex (2015), and Katie (2020) are all New Albany graduates! I enjoy hiking, biking, traveling, Broadway shows, reading, and time with friends and family.

Teaching English is my passion, and it is my honor to work with your child in the VLP. We are going to make the most of this special learning opportunity as we work together this year!
