Mrs. Walsh

If you are reading this bio, you are probably ready to take an enthusiastic leap into the sixth grade with me, Mrs. Walsh!  I’m ready to burst with excitement at the thought of all of the amazing things we will do together this year!  I will be your teacher for English Language Arts, and although some of the things we’ll do may seem challenging, I am confident that you all will find success!

I joined the New Albany staff in 2007 after having the pleasure of teaching fifth grade in Reynoldsburg for a year.  I obtained my undergraduate degree in English and Communications from Ohio University in Athens.  Upon graduation, I took a full-time position in marketing.  I returned to school in 2003 to obtain my Masters degree in Middle Childhood Education from The University of Toledo.  Finally!  I had found my calling!!

As we move through our year together, we will learn so much about each other, but I wanted to start you off with a few things about me!  Some of my favorite things are the books and movies, Gone With the Wind and The Wizard of Oz, turtles, hot rod cars, and anything to do with Harry Potter!  I have a husband, named Tim, who is an attorney, a daughter, named Riley, who attends New Albany, and a cat named Skyler.  When I’m not working on things for school, I like to spend time with my family and friends, traveling, watching football, and playing games.  I also LOVE to read!  (Go figure!)

My goal for every student is to help them realize that they can do or be anything they want!  I count on the strong and positive partnership between home and school to help push students to grow to their full potential.  I am passionate about “my kids”, and I strive to make a positive impact on each of their lives.  I can’t wait to start another incredible year!
