Who is Mrs. Taylor?
I have been teaching at New Albany Schools since 2003. I started my journey here as a long-term substitute for Mrs. Leslie Ropp in a third-grade classroom. That summer, I was hired as a 5th-grade teacher where I taught math, science, and social studies. During my 17 years at New Albany, I have also taught reading and writing. However, my true passion is science!
Before coming to New Albany, I graduated from a school in Rochester, Michigan - Oakland University - with a Bachelor’s of Education with a focus on science. In 2006, I earned my Master’s degree from Marygrove College.
I was born and raised in Michigan (as many of you refer to the state up north). After I graduated from Oakland University, I moved to Ohio to be with my husband, who was attending school at The Ohio State University. My husband and I have two beautiful children, Avery and Allie, who also attend New Albany Schools. Additionally, we have two cats, Jinx and Danger.
When I am not at school, I am usually with Allie at dance/softball/cheerleading or with Avery playing video games or biking. I really enjoy reading, especially the books my students read, so we can chat about them! I also love spending time at my home with my family, swimming, walking, and biking! In the fall, I love to watch football; and yes, I am a Michigan fan! I have had a rough few years, and my husband, students, and children are sure to let me know that!!! We also enjoy traveling!
