Mrs. Labuhn

I am entering my 9th year teaching and my 7th year teaching at New Albany Plain Local Schools. At New Albany Intermediate, I am privileged to teach math to fifth graders. My goal every year is to encourage students to take risks, make mistakes, and gain confidence in their math abilities. I strive to build a classroom environment where students feel they are in charge of their learning and enjoy coming to math class every day! I love to learn, especially about math, I have been part of the District Math Committee, and the committee to help find a math resource for the district.

Prior to teaching, I obtained an undergraduate degree in education at Indiana University where I was a member of the women's swim team, and a member of the 2003 Big Ten Champion Team! The next five years I spent at Marshall University as the assistant swim and dive coach while earning my masters degree.

At home I am married to Patrick and we have two children. Caroline is six, and a first grader. Carson is three, and starting his first year of preschool. In my spare time, I enjoy adventures with my family, running, swimming, and cheering on our favorite sports teams!
