Welcome to another year of learning. Here's a little ditty about me, Mrs. Tirza Cameron. I earned a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Dakota in 1990 and a Master Degree in The Art of Teaching from Marygrove College in 2006. I am currently taking many courses to add additional science information to my teaching. This is my 28th year teaching overall and my 21st year with New Albany schools. I have focused my last four years of instruction in 6th grade Science. Past experiences: teaching 6th/7th grade mathematics (4 years), 5th grade (17 years) and 4th grade (2years).
I have been married to my husband, Don, for over 32 years, with three children (two girls and a boy), who have all graduated from New Albany Schools. Stephanie ('08) and Taylor ('11) are also Ohio State graduates, while Donnie ('17) is studying Elementary Education at The Ohio State University. I can’t forget to mention my 10 year-old Cairn Terrier, Tucker and 4 year old Victorian Bulldog, Myles.
When I am not teaching: I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, walking, pilates, movies, candy crush and jigsaw puzzles. I am a New Albany resident, so I may be seen frequently at the library, local restaurants, grocery stores or other New Albany sponsored events.
I am so happy/lucky to be a person that can say, “I absolutely love my career... Teaching!” It can be very emotional at times, but so rewarding to work with a new batch of students each year; watching your child grow, learn, and mature into an adolescent. Starting a new year is quite exciting; I look forward to this year being a great adventure in your child's learning.
