Hello, my name is Lynda Marshall. I have taught 4th grade at New Albany for 15 years, although I've been affiliated with the district for over 26 years, I absolutely love teaching fourth grade. I am excited to work with you and your child this year to help them grow, learn, and create a successful fourth-grade experience. I will teach Reading, Writing, and Spelling, coupled with some Social Studies units that are co-taught with Mrs. Schackelford, my teaching partner.
My husband and I have been married for over 35 years, and have three adult children, all of whom attended New Albany Schools. Now we are enjoying watching our grandchildren learn, explore and grow academically and socially in this wonderful district.
I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. I attended Houston Elementary, then attended Colerain Middle School, before graduating from Colerain High School. I am the youngest of three and the only girl. Yes, it was both a pleasure and a challenge growing up as a tomboy who was forced to wear dresses. Immediately after high school, I continued my education by attending Central State
University, a prominent HBCU in Ohio, where I majored in Early Childhood Development. After college, I worked in the Corporate world for many years until I decided to pursue my passion for education and re-entered college at Otterbein University where I obtained my teaching degree in 2008. Since that time, I have continued to be a lifelong learner by obtaining many certifications in education.
Outside of teaching, I have many interests. Some of my favorites are reading, cooking, scrapbooking, and traveling, but mostly it's all about spending time with my family as we learn new lessons/adventures together in our everyday lives.
