Hola! I am so fortunate to be a member of the New Albany - Plain Local Schools learning community, and look forward to sharing my passion for the Spanish language  (and the cultures in which it is spoken) with my students this year. The 2022-2023 school year marks my fourteenth year of teaching Spanish to high school students, and my tenth year at NAHS.  While working at Ohio Wesleyan University as a college admissions counselor from 2006-2009, I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Mexico City, Mexico to recruit prospective international students. Additionally, while pursuing my Master's degree at The Ohio State University, I traveled with a team led by Dr. Belinda Gimbert to Puerto Rico where we spent several days working with representatives from the Puerto Rico Department of Education and the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez to refine and to align primary and secondary education mathematics academic content standards. 

Students often ask me how I became a Spanish teacher. In short, I had a teacher during high school who challenged me and inspired me to pursue my natural penchant for the language. In fact, I graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee with a B.S. in Spanish, and returned to my high school alma mater to teach for three years as a colleague of my former Spanish teacher before making the move to central Ohio to be closer to my wife. I can only hope to make the same positive impact in the lives of my students that my former teacher and colleague made on me. 

My wife, Morgan, is also an educator. This year marks her twentieth year of teaching 5th grade in Dublin City Schools. We reside in Dublin with our three children, Madelyn (11), Raegan (9), Collin (7) as well as our yellow lab, Lilah.
