Mr. Schwinnen

Welcome. I started teaching at New Albany High School in 2009. I’ve taught Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Chemistry, and Senior Environmental Research Course here at the high school. I graduated from Ohio State University in 2005 with a B.S. in Biology. I briefly worked at the Alum Creek Water Reclamation Facility and the Ohio State Museum of Biological Diversity before attending graduate school at Wright State University. At Wright State I researched aquatic ecosystems and earned my M.S. in Biology in 2009.

I found teaching by teaching. At Wright State I was a teaching assistant and this position enabled me to find a passion for learning in myself and my students. With the help of professors at Wright State I earned my teaching license while completing my research and now I can help students develop their passion for learning. Specifically, I enjoy helping my students learn about our amazing natural systems and how we impact them.

I am married and have two young kids. I love spending time with my family and watching my children grow. We enjoy being outside and taking in whatever nature has to offer.
