Miss Langenderfer

The 2022-2023 school year will be my fifteenth year as a mathematics teacher at New Albany High School. I will be teaching Geometry Intervention Learning Center, Honors PreCalculus and AP Calculus BC this year. Past courses which I have taught include: Algebra I, Algebra/Geometry Connections II, Geometry Connections, Intervention Learning Center for Mathematics, Honors Geometry, Algebra II, Honors PreCalculus and AP Calculus BC. Currently, I am the SOAR Leadership Advisor and one of the Nest Deans. Past roles include being the Junior Class and Prom Advisor for seven years, and I have served on numerous committees from technology, school culture, scheduling, and House among others.

I am a proud graduate of The Ohio State University (GO BUCKS!) where I was in the Honors Program and received three degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Honors in the Liberal Arts, and a Master of Education - Secondary Mathematics Grades 7-12. I currently hold my Masters+40 which means that I have taken 40+ graduate semester hours beyond my Master's degree with the focus of my additional graduate coursework surrounding the topics of mathematics, psychology, technology, school culture and educational practices. Additionally, I am a certified Apple Teacher based upon my completion of Apple Educator Modules. I am a forever learner and enjoy exploring new ways to better my craft and to give back to my students as well as to the profession. I have attended and presented at numerous national conferences related to education, including: The Jostens Renaissance National Conferences on school culture (attended three times and presented twice) and The National CPM Conference as a co-speaker with other NAHS Math Department faculty (attended and presented once). Though I am extremely passionate about mathematics, I believe that teaching is so much more than academics, and I take this very seriously. I strive to provide opportunities for my students to persevere with a perspective of humility and gratitude that builds a culture of kindness and respect along with a knowledge of mathematics which they can carry on their journey in life.

I was born and raised in Cincinnati where my family still resides. I enjoy spending my time with family and friends, traveling, seeing movies, photography, attending sporting events and just relaxing! I especially love the Buckeyes and college football. You will definitely find me at various school events throughout the year to support students and fellow staff. I love attending music performances, viewing student masterpieces and cheering at a variety of athletic events. I am constantly blown away by the talent, camaraderie and sportsmanship displayed by our students. GO EAGLES!
