Welcome to our learning community! In my classroom, I hope all students can experience the passion and joy for learning that I have every day I come to our campus. I have been teaching Language Arts and Humanities at New Albany High School since 2005. I have enjoyed teaching numerous classes here at the high school including Introduction to Humanities, English 10 Language and Composition, and British Literature. I also serve as the Wagner House dean, home of the Royals.
I feel so fortunate to work here with wonderful students and dedicated staff members who inspire me to transcend the mundane every day. I discovered my passion for teaching at an early age. I knew I wanted to be a teacher by the time I was in 4th grade, and I have not looked back since. Teaching marries all the things I like best: working with students, reading, writing, speaking, critical thinking, and collaborating. There is nothing quite like discussing a great book and learning together.
I am originally from northern Ohio, but moved down to Columbus to attend The Ohio State University. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Masters in Education from OSU. Whether I am working with students in the classroom, running around at the park with my husband and two daughters, outside gardening and planting flowers, or curled up with a good book, I love to stay busy. I look forward to another great year of laughing, learning, and discovering our passions together.
