Degrees and Certifications:
27 years ago I began my journey on the road of teaching. Every stop provided increased knowledge and challenges that have allowed me to grow as an educator. Stop 1: Framingham, Massachusetts where I taught at the New England Center for Autism as a special education teacher. Stop 2: Weston, Connecticut where I taught students with disabilities at Coleytown Middle School and earned my Master’s Degree in Special Education. Stop 3: Loveland, Ohio where I also taught students with disabilities at J.F. Burns Elementary School. Stop 4: Leesburg, Virginia where I taught students with disabilities for three years before earning my second Master’s Degree in Education and taught 6th grade English. Stop 5: New Albany Middle School!!!!! I have spent the last 10 years as a special education teacher, 7th grade social studies teacher, and a 7th grade English teacher at NAMS. Moving here also led me to obtain a 3rd master’s degree in Middle Childhood Education. I look forward to taking my students on the journey of knowledge through reading and writing. Learning, like life, can be an adventure.
At New Albany Middle School, in addition to teaching, I also coach the middle school girls’ and boys’ tennis teams and the 7th and 8th grade Power of the Pen team. I am also the National Junior Honor Society advisor for 7th and 8th graders.
