Hello! I am Kirsten Jaster and I started in New Albany in 1994! Middle School is my favorite age to teach! The learners are dynamic, challenging and bring a sense of humor to everyday! I have a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from The Ohio State University in Biology and General Science. At Ohio Dominican I received my elementary certification in 1-8 with a focus in science. And since I have earned my Master's degree in Education from Marygrove College. I also enjoy taking college credit courses in the areas of science and education to further my studies.
In 1995 I establish New Albany's first Science Olympiad Program which has grown since to include 3 teams and we are ranked in the top 10 in the State of Ohio and for the past several years we are number one in Central Ohio! http://www.nascioly.org
I have a fun family of 3 kids: Max, Erich & Emma and my husband Tim (a Notre Dame grad!). We also have some fish, a handsome goldendoodle: Dexter and a black cat: Mini Me! I love to be outside, camp, swim and especially gardening!
I look forward to an exciting year in both science classes! Be ready to learn, ask questions, and be actively engaged in my classes
