We are excited to announce the amazing guest authors that will speak to students this school year! You can learn more about these authors by clicking on their name below. Josh Funk writes silly stories and somehow tricks people into publishing them as books - such as the Lady Pancake & Sir French Toast series (including The Case of the Stinky Stench and Mission Defrostable), the How to Code with Pearl and Pascal series, the It's Not a Fairy Tale series, Lost in the Library: A Story of Patience and Fortitude (in conjunction with the New York Public Library), Dear Dragon, Albie Newton, Pirasaurs!, and more coming soon! Since the fall of 2015, Josh has visited (or virtually visited) over 300 schools, classrooms, and libraries. Josh is a board member of The Writers' Loft in Sherborn, MA and was the co-coordinator of the 2016 and 2017 New England Regional SCBWI Conferences. Josh grew up in New England and studied Computer Science in school. Today, he still lives in New England and when not writing Java code or Python scripts, he drinks Java coffee and writes manuscripts.
Chris Grabenstein is a New York Times bestselling author. His books for children include Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library, which was in the top 10 of the middle-grades bestseller list for 111 weeks. The book has been nominated for 44 different children’s choice state book awards and has won 22. It was also turned into a movie on Nickelodeon. He also wrote the best sellers Mr. Lemoncello’s Library Olympics, Mr. Lemoncello's Great Library Race and The Island of Dr. Libris, as well as the award-winning Welcome to Wonderland, Haunted Mystery and Riley Mack series. He is the co-author of several fun and funny page-turners with James Patterson such as I Funny, Treasure Hunters, House of Robots, Jacky Ha-Ha and Word of Mouse. He also wrote the play Curiosity Cat. A former improvisational comedian (he was in the same New York City troupe as Bruce Willis), he performed onstage with the late Robin Williams. In the 1980s, he wrote scripts for Jim Henson and The Muppets. Grabenstein lives in New York City with his wife, J.J.
Steve Sheinkin is the acclaimed author of fast-paced, cinematic nonfiction histories, including Fallout, Undefeated, Born to Fly, The Port Chicago 50, and Bomb. His accolades include a Newbery Honor, three Boston Globe–Horn Book Awards, a Sibert Medal and Honor, and three National Book Award finalist honors. He lives in Saratoga Springs, New York, with his wife and two children.
We have digital books!
Our library collections continue to expand with physical books and digital books. Students can borrow digital books using our site hosted by OverDrive. The Sora app can be downloaded to any device to access the digital collection. Students can borrow two ebooks for a 14 day loan period. They can also place holds and put in requests for additional titles to be added. To begin borrowing, students will need to enter his or her username and password.
