Hola a todos! My name is Jessica Swainbank-Cummings, but my students will come know me as “Señora”. I am thrilled to be continuing my almost decade long teaching career here in New Albany.
 
I was born and raised in Connecticut and later attended The Ohio State University where I graduated with a bachelors in Spanish. After college, Ilived in Western Washington and after receiving my Masters in Education from Seattle University, I taught high school Spanish north of Seattle for 4 years. My husband’s work with Boeing took us to Charleston, South Carolina for a few years before coming back to the Buckeye State that we truly call home! I have taught at Zanesville High School for the last 5 awesome years.
 
I am a lifelong traveler, learner, reader, runner, community supporter, culture builder, mom, wife, teacher and so much more.
 
My teaching philosophy is simple: all students can learn a new language. I have found that teaching young people a language using relevant, interesting and understandable messages can yield amazing results. I hope to meet you here in our unique learning space very soon to show you how.
