Ms. Neiwirth

My name is Amy Neiwirth (pronounced NYE-werth) and I teach 4th & 5th grade art at New Albany Intermediate School. I joined the NAPLS community in August 2021, having previously taught K-12 visual art at Columbus Torah Academy, an independent Jewish day school (2006-2021), and middle school art in a long-term sub role with Columbus City Schools (2006).

I earned both my BFA (Painting & Drawing, 2003) and MA (Art Education, 2008) from The Ohio State University. I am a member of the Ohio Art Education Association, serving on the organization’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion committee. I also participated in Ohio’s Visual Art Standards Revision working group in the spring of 2019.

I enjoy cooking, painting, crafts and jewelry-making, cats, and attempting to be a plant lady. My husband and I live in the Olde Towne East/Franklin Park area of Columbus. I love working with our awesome team of educators at NAIS and I’m excited to continue sharing my love of art with our students and our school community!
