Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Waltman

This is an exciting year for me, as it is my first year at  New Albany Intermediate School. My name is Kim Waltman, and I will be an added counselor to NAIS. I am so excited to be a part of the New Albany Intermediate School family and to be able to get to know as many students and families as possible!

While this is my first year at New Albany, it is my 19th year in education. I graduated from Pittsburg State University (Pittsburg, Ks) in 2001 with a degree in Secondary Education in Social Studies and received my Master’s in School Counseling from Wichita State University in 2008. I was a 7th grade social studies teacher in a small town outside Wichita, Ks for 10 years. I was then the middle school counselor for the same school for eight years. I moved to Ohio last July with my husband and my two children, Kinley (11) and Reed (8). We love living in Ohio!

Our family is very sports oriented. We love watching all sports, especially college basketball. We are big Wichita State and University of Kansas basketball fans. My children also both play sports. Don’t be surprised if you see us at any sporting event! When not watching sports, I love to read and to catch up on the latest movies!
