Welcome to Kindergarten! I am so excited to begin my 23rd year teaching with the New Albany-Plain Local School District this year. I have spent my career so far teaching both Kindergarten and First Grade. This year, I will be teaching All Day Kindergarten, and I'm just as excited to begin this school year as I was 23 years ago!
A little about my educational background: I earned my undergraduate degree from Grove City College (in PA) in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. In 2006, I graduated with my Master's degree in Literacy from The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!). I completed my Reading Endorsement in 2016 through Ohio Dominican University and I am currently enrolled in Ashland University and working towards my Gifted Endorsement. I love teaching and come from a family of teachers. When I began my career in 1999, my grandma and dad were both actively still teaching, so we had three generations of teachers all at the same time!
I live in New Albany with my husband Josh, a college professor, and our two children, Bradley and Chloe. Bradley just turned 14 and loves creating things and making all kinds of messes in the name of Science. Chloe turned 4 in May and keeps us on our toes! She loves puzzles and books, all things princesses, and doing things "herself". As a family, we love being outside, camping, riding bikes, and playing games. In the fall, I love to cheer enthusiastically for the Pittsburgh Steelers while my family tells me to calm down!
I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year and am looking forward to a wonderful school year together!
