In Association with the Ohio High School Athletic Association and Ohio Capital Conference Middle School division, one male and one female 8th grade student athlete will be recognized with the 2013 Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award, who exemplifies the characteristics of positive sportsmanship.
Awarded students will receive a certificate honoring this achievement, along with their name permanently engraved on a plaque displayed in the lobby of the MS Gym. Students will also be recognized at the Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award Dinner in June with all award winners from the Ohio Capital Conference.
Requirements:
- promote sportsmanship, ethics, and character as outlined by the NAMS Eagles SOAR program
- 8th grade student that has participated in at least one interscholastic school athletic team
- complete application essay
- have recommendation from the athletes coach and a teacher.
