We are trying to set up a fundraiser in the school for a foundation called I-Open. This is a foundation that gives money to people in need in Africa. Last year people raised enough money to buy desks for school children. This year, I-Open is trying to raise enough money to afford uniforms for the children in school. Uniforms allow the children to wear about the same outfit every day so they don’t need tons of clothes. Tomorrow we will host a hat day where you can wear a hat for just $1 in the building. Thanks for making an effort to help children in need.

8th grade girls interested in playing Field Hockey next fall in the high school are asked to attend a meeting on Tuesday, May 14th at 6:30 pm in the mini-theatre.

Attention current 7th & 8th graders! Have you ever wanted to travel to the United Kingdom? In the summer of 2014, the New Albany High School Drama Department will be taking a group from our school to Edinburgh, Scotland for the Fringe Festival, the largest performing arts festival in the world! This trip is possible because our program was nominated and selected as a participant in the American High School Theatre Festival. On the trip, students will travel to England, where we’ll explore London and Stratford, and to Edinburgh, Scotland, where we’ll perform a production four times for an international audience.
Congratulations to the 7th grade softball team on another fine performance against Gahanna South.

In two games, the battery of Omega Garret and Jordan Jeffers and a shoe string catch by Olivia Puckett keyed the defense while cough hits by Julia Schroer, Megan Kessee and Abby Bartleson and stolen bases by Grace Skowron keyed the offense.

The 2013 New Albany Plain Local School District Summer Academy provides students with diverse experiences of K-12 Enrichment and High School Credit Classes. As a part of our mission to develop high-achieving, ethical, self-directed, and intellectually curious citizens of the world, Enrichment Classes have been assembled to stimulate and challenge your child academically, physically, creatively, and intellectually. High School Credit Classes are also being offered to challenge students through changes in instructional delivery, content, and pace.

In order to provide a clear schedule and process for our K-12 Summer Experiences, we have created a website with informational links for each class along with a comprehensive online registration form. You can also register in person at the Administrative Office at 55 North High Street.

Registration for K-12 Enrichment and High School classes is open until May 17th. No fees will be collected until a class is confirmed based on enrollment. Once a decision to offer the class is made, an email will be sent to you for notification along with instructions on the payment process and location.
