Freshman College Planning Meeting
December 2012
This meeting designed for 9th grade students will help parents and students understand the college selection process. The discussion will include the different types of testing, planning timelines, and discussion of different types of colleges. A panel of parents who have been through the process will also share their thoughts about the process.
Sophomore College Planning Meeting
March 2013
This meeting is designed to help sophomores and their parents gain a better understanding of the college selection process. Discussion of college entrance exams, student profiles, and college profiles will be discussed. A college admission representative will also share their thoughts about the process.
College Planning Workshop
House periods January through May, 2013
The College Planning Workshop is designed to help Junior students in the winter and spring to thoroughly explore the college selection process. Students will meet in the College Center in AO in groups no larger than 10. They will receive a notebook and the class will be treated as an active workshop.
College Planning Seminar for Students and Parents
Junior meetings are scheduled for January 2013.
Senior Meetings are schedule for late August and late November 2012
This four part evening meeting series begins with two consecutive weekly meetings in January for Junior parents and students. Topics include testing, preparation, college attributes, and early decision, among many others. The final two meetings are completed in the fall of the senior year and address financial aid, scholarships, and college application processing in detail.
Senior College Meetings
I will meet with Seniors in Government class periods early in the year to explain the college application process and prepare students for their applications. Senior team teachers will also be involved in this exciting process.
Individual Student and Parent Meetings
Of course the heart and soul of the College Center is and always will be the opportunity to meet individually with students and parents as they navigate the complex college selection process. I hope to provide the very best customer service available.
