About Your College Counselor

Hello,

My name is Jeff Stahlman. It is my honor to be your College Counselor at New Albany High School. I am in my twenty-fourth year in education, twenty-first as a counselor. It has been my great fortune to be at New Albany for my fourteenth year for the 2012-2013 school year. The college selection process is a fun, exciting, and demanding process, but one that I dearly love. Students are leaving a comfortable, known stage of life and moving to a life of unknowns at college, what could be more exciting? I have always believed that the best decisions about college are based upon facts and research. I will always encourage students to look beyond the surface and to ask themselves the tough questions about this process, so that they will better know the answers and themselves. The goal is for students to make the best possible college choice for themselves. It may not be the most popular, prestigious, or where all of their friends are going, but it should be a place where they feel comfortable and challenged at the same time.
