During April 11th through the 18th New Albany High School will administer Ohio’s end-of-course exams. The state end-of course exams are often referred to as AIR tests (American Institutes for Research). All students in courses with an AIR test are required by the Ohio Department of Education to take the exams.
We will utilize a late arrival bell schedule similar to the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT) of the past. This creates a comfortable testing environment while maximizing classroom instruction during test week. PLEASE NOTE: BUSES WILL RUN AS NORMAL. On days when a student is not scheduled for a state required AIR test they have the option of arriving at the regular 8 a.m. start time and reporting to a quiet study location until testing is complete OR arriving at 10 a.m. for the first class period of the day. Students who decide to take advantage of the late arrival will need to provide their own transportation to school. If your child is interested in the late arrival option, please fill out this form 2016 Spring AIR testing Request for Late Arrival on Non.pdf and return it to the E Office by April 7.
EXCEPTION: On Wednesday, April 13th ALL students will be required to report at 8 a.m. Those who are not testing will participate in the annual Wexner Leadership Series. Each student will have a specific room assignment where they will report for attendance purposes and then walk to the McCoy Center.
Throughout the week all students will be assigned a room for testing or provided a quiet study space (for those not testing but arriving at 8 a.m.). The room assignments will be disseminated the week prior to testing. Locations will be posted throughout the building and teachers/office staff will have lists readily available to direct students to the appropriate site.
