New Albany – Plain Local Schools has decided to keep Kip Greenhill on as the Interim Middle School Principal for the 2013-2014 school year. Greenhill began his role as Interim Middle School principal in July 2012. His prior service includes the position of principal at Upper Arlington High School for the past 14 years. Greenhill brings with him 25 years as a building principal in central Ohio.
The district launched a principal search for New Albany Middle School in January 2013. While the district received significant interest and met with some well-qualified candidates, the district did not identify a candidate with the full complement of experiences that was desired for the position.
“The role of Middle School Principal is a key component of the leadership team and while we met with candidates that would bring great experience to the position, we determined the need to continue our search and maintain our focus on the work that we have undertaken this year with Kip and his leadership team,” said Superintendent Dr. April Domine.
“We have been fortunate to have an individual of Kip’s caliber as part of our New Albany Leadership Team this past year and have made the decision to continue our work with him as we move forward,” said Marilyn Troyer, Chief of Innovation, Improvement and Human Capital for the district. “Kip is an effective and engaged leader who will provide continuity as we continue the search for a permanent leader.”
Prior to his position at Upper Arlington, Greenhill served as the Principal at Bexley High School. Greenhill has 25 years of combined service as a high school building principal. His experience in these districts will be a valuable addition to New Albany Middle School and provide continued leadership and support. Kip’s experience will also be a tremendous benefit to the middle school as a mentor to our two assistant principals and staff.
Greenhill holds a bachelor’s degree from Baldwin-Wallace College and a Master’s Degree from Kent State University. During his career he has also served as a classroom teacher, coach and principal at the junior high level.
