- Goal 5: Community Communication & Collaboration
Superintendent Domine discussed the staff restructuring and introduced the people that will fill existing or restructured positions.
Bond and Levy Discussion
The School Board also discussed at length the various options for a future bond and levy issue. Several board members mentioned the sensitivity of these tough economic times and that they would prefer to keep any burden on taxpayers as low as possible. The reality is that there is a need based on growth in the district and based on a recent community survey, it is understood by over 43% of those contacted that overcrowding is an issue.
The Board approved a resolution to prepare a note of necessity to be sent to the Auditor of State and the State Superintendent of Education. Again, no decision was made as to the amount of the bond or the amount of years for the levy, beside the fact that fewer years for an operating levy were preferable.
