As indicated at the end of July, the New Albany Plain Local School District moved quickly to name an interim Middle School Principal. Kip Greenhill has been selected to serve the district in this role. Greenhill served as the principal at Upper Arlington High School for the past 14 years, he retired in June 2012. Greenhill brings with him 25 years as a building principal in central Ohio.
Greenhill will begin immediately and will work in transition with Middle School Principal Andy Culp who accepted an Assistant Superintendent position at Marysville City School District on July 27.
“We are fortunate to have an individual of Kip’s caliber join the New Albany Middle School Leadership Team,” said Marilyn Troyer, Chief of Innovation, Improvement and Human Capital for the district. “Kip will be an effective and engaged leader who will continue the great work of our outgoing principal, assistant principals and staff at the New Albany Middle School.”
Prior to his position at Upper Arlington, Greenhill served as the Principal at Bexley High School. Greenhill has 25 years of combined service as a high school building principal. His experience in these districts will be a valuable addition to New Albany Middle School and provide the necessary leadership and support during this year of transition. Kip’s experience will also be a tremendous benefit to the middle school as a mentor to our two assistant principals and staff.
Greenhill holds a bachelor’s degree from Baldwin-Wallace College and a Master’s Degree from Kent State University. During his career he has also served as a classroom teacher, coach and principal at the junior high level.
