New Albany-Plain Local Schools Announces Interim Operations and Planning Director

January 8, 2013

As indicated in December, the New Albany Plain Local School District moved quickly to identify an interim Director of Operations and Planning.  Barry Zwick has been selected to serve the district in this role. Zwick served as the Director of Operations at Bexley City Schools for 16 years, retiring in July of 2011. Zwick brings with him a combined 22 years of experience in district business operations and an additional 16 years in school administration and teaching.

Zwick has been working with Ken Stark during the month of December in transition and officially began in the interim role on Monday, January 7, 2013. Stark accepted a position as Business and Operations Director at South-Western City Schools last month. His last day with New Albany Plain Local Schools was January 4, 2013.

“Barry brings an incredibly diverse set of experiences and impressive years of dedicated service to our Leadership Team,” said April Domine, Superintendent of New Albany – Plain Local Schools. “He will be an effective and engaged leader who will continue the great work with our operations and facilities team.”

Zwick holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education from Georgetown College, Georgetown, Kentucky and a Doctorate of Philosophy Degree in Educational Administration from Ohio University.  During his career he has also served as a building principal, college coach and administrator and classroom teacher.

The search process to hire a permanent director of facilities and operations will be assessed over the course of the next several months. Consideration will focus on the specific needs of the district and the
responsibilities of the position.
