New Albany Middle School Leadership Transitions

July 27, 2012

New Albany Middle School Principal Andy Culp announced to staff this morning that he has accepted an Assistant Superintendent position at Marysville City School District.

“The New Albany Middle School staff and community have fueled my growth as an educator, and I have been privileged to learn from and lead this wonderful learning community,” said Culp in a follow-up letter to the staff and community.  “New Albany will always be a part of who I am as a person and a professional.”

Mr. Culp committed to working with the New Albany Middle School staff and district administration during this transition. The major components are in place for the upcoming school year.

“I offer my sincerest congratulations to Andy on this opportunity to advance his career to the next level,” said Board President Laura Kohler. “His 16 years of dedication to the district are greatly appreciated.  He has worked diligently to advance the quality of education for our students.”

“I appreciate the leadership, support and energy Andy has brought to our middle school community,” said Superintendent Domine. “It is difficult to see someone so well respected leave our district, but this is an incredible opportunity for him and I wish him the best.”

The New Albany Plain Local Schools administrative team is developing the transition for leadership in the Middle School. “We have a very strong structure in place with our two assistant principals, Steve Gehlert and Elizabeth Gonda, as we prepare for the new school year.  We will move quickly to secure the necessary support as we move forward,” said Superintendent Domine.
