The New Albany Middle School Eighth Grade Choir earned outstanding accolades at the 2012 Music Showcase Festival, at Kings Island Park, April 28. They received a Superior rating, First Place in their division and Overall Grand Champion for all Junior High Choirs! The choir also celebrated awards for outstanding alto, soprano and tenor sections. The section awards were a “first” for the NAMS Choir.
The 2012 Music Showcase Festivals offers exciting programs for High School, Junior High, Middle School, and Elementary School Choirs, Orchestras, Concert Bands, Jazz Ensembles, and Parade Bands. Music groups have the opportunity to perform before a panel of outstanding adjudicators whose comments will prove educational to both young and experienced music groups. Students benefit not only from the excitement of competitive performance, but also from the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable day at one of North America’s greatest theme parks.
Come hear the award-winning choir perform their Disney medley at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 31, at the Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts. Hope to see you there!
