About Empty Bowls

In an effort to raise awareness about the issues of hunger in and around our community, the middle school Art department is again participating in an international project called Empty Bowls. The project provides an opportunity to bring awareness to an issue through academic and artistic disciplines.

Empty Bowls is a charitable concept that allows artists and groups to create and donate bowls, then serve a simple meal.  Guests of the event choose a bowl to eat from and then keep as a reminder of all the empty bowls still left in the world.  In exchange for the meal and bowl, guests contribute a suggested minimum donation.

One hundred percent of each meal’s proceeds will be donated to families in need within our district as well as a local organization that will reach families who live within our district but may not have school age children.
