On April 30, the New Albany – Plain Local School District hosted a Parent Information Night on the Common Core Standards. The session was presented in cooperation with our partner organization, the New Albany Community Partnership for Education (NACPE) to provide information on the next generation of instruction and learning. The future is now and the session was intended to help parents understand how instruction is changing in our schools. An additional parent focus was what your child will be expected to do when the next generation of online assessments is introduced in 2014.
The Common Core Standards are now being implemented and these changes greatly increase the rigor of instruction in our schools. For all New Albany students to succeed with these changes, we all need to become better informed to help our students and teachers moving forward.
