Change in Wednesday 1/23 Schedule for MS and HS

January 18, 2013

On Wednesday, January 23rd, Middle School and High School buses will run at their normal 7:30 start time, NOT on the delayed Wednesday schedule.  How will this change affect your student?

Middle School

High School

  • The school day will begin at 7:30 AM .
  • Students will report to their first
class, as if it were a normal Monday schedule.
  • Classes will begin at 8:40 on their regular delayed Wednesday schedule.
  • Students with other transportation may arrive by 8:40 AM.
  • Students riding the bus (arriving at 7:30 AM) will report to the cafeteria for a monitored study session until the school day begins.

Why is this change taking place?
The New Albany 8th grade class is participating in a program called “Challenge Day” the week of January 22-25, 2013.  Click here to learn more about Challenge Day, funded through the generous support of the 2012 Anti-Bully Walk partners, Smoot Construction and Ultimate U.

How does this affect the daily schedule of my middle schooler or high schooler?
The middle school will run its normal nine-period schedule, as it would on Monday, Tuesday or Friday of a given week.  The high school will run its Wednesday delayed start schedule.  However, students who take the bus to school will have a monitored study time from 7:30 AM to 8:40 AM.  High schoolers with alternate transportation may arrive by 8:40 AM.
