    Mr. Dwight Carter, Principal

    Dwight Carter became Principal at New Albany High School after spending twenty years with Gahanna Jefferson Public Schools. He was Principal at Gahanna Lincoln High School in Gahanna, OH for six years, but was also been a part of the GLHS staff as a teacher, coach, and Assistant Principal. He was named one of three 2013 NASSP Digital Principals of the Year. The recent addition to GLHS, Clark Hall, helped the district earn 2012 Best In Tech by Scholastic Administrator magazine.

    Mr. Carter’s purpose is to positively change lives and impact futures. He believes in the power of collaboration, continuous learning, hard work, and celebrating progress and achievement of students and Staffulty (staff and faculty). He was inducted into the Jostens Renaissance Educator Hall of Fame in July, 2010. He is passionate about creating the best possible learning environment for all stakeholders to be successful. He recently wrote the Foreword to Dr. Judy Brunner’s latest recent book, Now I Get It! Differentiate, Engage, and Read for Deeper Meaning and presents at a number of local, state, and national conferences about being a connected educator, using social media to increase student engagement, and creating a positive school climate and culture. He believes that, “no significant learning takes place without a significant relationship”-Dr. James Comer. He and his wife, Samantha, have a beautiful daughter named Gabrielle.

    Mrs. Amy Warren, Assistant Principal

    Mrs. Amy Warren joined the New Albany High School Learning Community August of 2016. Previously serving as the Lead Assistant Principal at Pickerington Lakeview Junior High School. She also served as an Assistant Principal at Pickerington Central High School for two years. Mrs. Warren's background focuses on a great amount of collaboration with faculty and staff, strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to building a positive school culture through relationships with parents, students and staff. Her focus on resource management, community engagement and curriculum and instruction will be a valued asset to the NAHS leadership team.

    During her 11+ years in education, Mrs. Warren has taught English and served as the director of the drama department at Grove City High School and assistant director of the drama department at Lebanon High School. She has facilitated the development and leadership of many student organizations and clubs including Student Council, Renaissance Student Leadership program and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD).

    Mrs. Warren holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Marygrove College, Detroit, Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ohio University, Athens.

    Mr. Michael Carr, Assistant Principal

    Mr. Michael Carr, a New Albany community member and former Johnstown Middle School Principal serves as an Assistant Principal for NAHS. He previously served as an Assistant Principal for eight years at Westerville Central High School as well as a Dean of Students, and as an Assistant Principal at Newark High School and also taught social studies.

    Many in our community will know Mr. Carr through his involvement in our community and our schools. He is the parent of three New Albany students and is an alum of NAHS, class of 1990. Mr. Carr is a loyal, hard-working, relationship-oriented educator who does what it takes to get the job done.  

    Michael Carr will serve as the NAHS State Testing Coordinator, among other key responsibilities. Mr. Carr has Masters in Education: Curriculum & Instruction from Ashland University and a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Capital University.

    New Albany Elementary Music Teacher LeNora Angles joins the leadership team at New Albany High School to serve as the Dean of Students for the 2016-17 school year. Ms. Angles has worked in the district for over 20 years.

    Ms. Angles has established strong relationships with students and staff across all grade levels due to her years of service at the elementary level. Ms. Angles holds two Master’s Degrees from The Ohio State University in Music with additional certifications, a Master’s of Education from Marygrove College and a Master's Degree in Administrative Leadership from Concordia University of Chicago. She also has a Bachelor of Music Education from Heidelberg University.

    Mr. Richie Wildenhaus, Athletic Director

    Mr. Richie Wildenhaus joins the New Albany High School leadership team as Athletic Director on August 1, 2016. He is the former Athletic Director and Assistant Principal at Erie High School in Erie, Colorado. His extensive background and experience brings a unique perspective to the athletic director role. Examples of his professional impact to date in Colorado include the development of a coach’s professional development program, the implementation of a Student-Athlete Leadership Team, establishment of the “Erie Tiger Network”, which is an online-based TV station for broadcasting athletic contests and other events and the development of an athletics mobile app to increase student and family engagement. Among his many accolades and experiences, he has was named Colorado 4A Athletic Director of the Year in the spring of 2016.

    A native of Kettering, Ohio, Wildenhaus is excited for the opportunity to lead the athletic programs at New Albany High School and to return to Ohio with his family. He is a graduate of the University of Nevada - Las Vegas where he holds a MS in Athletic Administration and a BS in Physical Education with a Minor in Athletic Coaching. He also holds an Educational Leadership Endorsement from Adams State University - Alamosa, Co.
